About the Programme

The Silver Frame Green Film Residency 2025 brought together five young filmmakers from the region and five professional mentors. Over four intensive days, participants developed and completed five original short films using minimal equipment and a strong focus on authorship, collaboration, and environmentally engaged storytelling.

Filmed in Srebrenica and Bratunac, the projects explore nature, community, mutual understanding, resilience, and everyday life in smaller towns. The residency combines film education, ecological awareness, and direct engagement with the local community.

5 films Created in four days and premiered during the closing ceremony of the 2nd Silver Frame Film Festival.

Best Short Film — Otpad i šutnja

A film that addresses silence in a subtle yet direct way. It asks where individual responsibility begins and where it ends, while highlighting environmental degradation and collective negligence.

Special Mention — Tamo gdje srce pomaže

An honest and inspiring story about everyday heroes, volunteer work, and human connections that transcend borders, languages, and origins.

Special Mention — Odbačena

A strong visual metaphor for our relationship with nature and with one another. Focused, precise, and highly effective within its short runtime.

Sarajevo Film Festival 2025

Official Presentation

All five films created during the residency were screened at the 31st Sarajevo Film Festival as part of the Teen Arena Programme.

Screening Information

Date: 22 August 2025

Location: Sarajevo Youth Theatre

Recognition: Odbačena by Zafar Berkovac received Third Prize in the official Under-18 competition of the Teen Action Programme.
