The first edition of what is today known as the Silver Frame Green Film Residency was launched in 2024 under the name Mobile Film Residency.

The program brought together five young filmmakers from Bosnia and Herzegovina, who were invited to create short films using mobile devices while exploring the theme of climate change, environmental awareness, and its impact on local communities.

During three intensive days in Srebrenica and Bratunac, participants worked alongside international and local mentors, developing films from idea to screen. The residency concluded with a public screening and award ceremony during the 1st Silver Frame Film Festival.

The success of this first edition laid the foundation for the program’s future development. In the following years, the residency expanded beyond Bosnia and Herzegovina and evolved into the Silver Frame Green Film Residency, welcoming young filmmakers from across the former Yugoslav region while maintaining its focus on sustainability, community engagement, and environmental storytelling.
