PRESS AREA

This is not a festival of noise, glamour, or red carpets. There are no VIP lounges,  everyone is a VIP if they are willing to listen, watch, and feel. There may be little media presence, yet the word still spreads. The audience is attentive, present, and hungry for stories. That is the greatest strength of this festival, its people.

MISSION STATEMENT

CORE VALUES

Diversity

Sustainability
Community & Human Connection

INCEPTION

Launched in July 2024, during the 19th International Youth Work Camp Emmaus, the Silver Frame Film Festival opened its first competitive edition from July 15–17 in Srebrenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In a town shaped by the genocide of 1995, as recognized by international courts, the festival created a space for artistic expression, reflection and connection through film.

EXPANSION

From 2025, the festival expanded to include Bratunac, with screenings across multiple venues, including the Cultural Centers of Srebrenica and Bratunac.

The programme also extends to nearby communities such as Nova Kasaba, through activities for children and young audiences.

While the programme unfolds across different locations, its symbolic heart remains the open-air cinema at the Emmaus Camp, where audiences gather under the summer sky.

ORGANIZATION

The festival is organized by the Admon Film Association, in collaboration with the International Forum of Solidarity – Emmaus and the House of Good Tones.

Film GREEN Residency – The Heart of the Festival

At the very core of the Silver Frame Film Festival lies the Film Residency, a unique mentorship platform where young filmmakers from the region and beyond develop and produce five original short films during the festival. The residency combines education, creativity, and community engagement, and has quickly become the beating heart of the festival — a space where ideas transform into cinematic stories.

IMPACT

More than just a festival, Silver Frame is an act of cultural resilience. It brings together filmmakers, students, and local communities, creating bridges across generations, borders, and histories. It is both a celebration of cinema’s diversity and a commitment to shaping a more connected and hopeful future through storytelling.

The Silver Frame Film Festival brought together filmmakers, students, audiences, and young volunteers from across the region and the world, underscoring the transformative power of cinema as a medium for healing, unity, and inspiration.
